Metis National Council General Assembly Elects Clément Chartier as national President
February 23, 2008 - At the Metis National Council General Assembly meeting today, Clément Chartier was elected as national President. There were four nominees and all 54 voting delegates cast their ballots.
The voting process was determined by a national election committee representing all Métis National Council Governing Members. The process and results were uncontested and delegates have expressed their desire to work collectively in advancing the rights of the Métis Nation.
