The Metis Nation of Alberta offers assistance and information on a number of key issues and policy areas of interest to the Metis community. 

The Strategic Policy and Planning team is currently organizing its 4th annual conference for February 8th to 11th, 2009 at the Chateau Louis Conference Centre in Edmonton.  The upcoming conference is entitled, Moving Forward!: Promoting Success in the Metis Community

Strategic Policy and Planning team topic areas include:

Health - includes information about current  MNA initiatives on public health surveillance, diabetes, Hepatitis C and helping kids make healthy choices 
Education -includes MNA guide to awards, scholarships and bursaries for Metis learners 
Families - includes information on MNA children and youth services and agencies
Housing -includes information on Metis Urban Housing
Justice - includes contact information for Metis harvesting queries 
Tripartite - means 3-way MNA/ Federal/ Provincial initiatives in areas including the Michif language, economic development, education, governance and children's services
