Draft Consultation Policy
The Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA) is seeking your input on the important topic of Aboriginal Consultation and Accommodation.  As you may remember the MNA distributed a draft of the Policy Guidelines Regarding the Duty to Consult and Accommodate Métis Aboriginal Rights and Interests in Alberta at the 2009 Annual General Assembly. The purpose of such a policy is to respond to the need to clarify the process for consulting with Métis regarding Crown actions that could impact Métis Aboriginal rights and interests in the Province of Alberta. Please provide any feedback for further requests for information to:

Métis Veterans to be Honour in Juno Beach Nov. 11
November 6, 2009 (Edmonton) - Métis veterans from Alberta will be part of an envoy traveling to France for a dedication ceremony to honour their Métis comrades who fought for and died for freedom at Juno Beach on D-Day on June 6, 1944.

Four Métis Youth to Carry Olympic Torch in Alberta
November 4, 2009 (Edmonton) - The 2010 Olympics is getting closer everyday with the Olympic torch arriving in Canada this week. During the torch’s journey across Canada there will be four Métis Youth from Alberta carrying it high and proud when the torch travels through the province this January.

October 28, 2009 (Edmonton) – The Métis Nation of Alberta is saddened by the news of the passing of Manitoba Métis Federation Senator Ed Head who was an outspoken advocate for Métis people across Canada.
